Tripura along with other parts of the country on Tuesday observed the 60th All India Civil Defence and Home Guard Day- 2022 during a programme held at  AD Nagar police ground in Agartala on Tuesday.

 On the occasion of Raising Day and highlighted the duties and responsibilities of Home guards and Civil Defence volunteers as first responders during disasters and pandemic like situations, the Fire and Emergency Minister Ram Prasad Paul after taking the  salutes of the firefighters and other security forces praised the role and assistance extended by all officers and men from Civil Defence and Home guards.

Paul also administered the oath to all home guards, civil defence volunteers, SDRF and fire fighters, who participated in the parade.

Paul  said that, ‘like previous year, this year also both the organizations are jointly observing their raising days on December 6 as well as in commemoration of those citizens, martyrs who have laid down their lives for the cause of freedom and humanitarian task on helping people in their distress and during disasters’. The Minister also expressed his gratitude and best wishes and paid his homage to those Civil Defence and Home Guard martyrs who have laid down their lives for the cause of humanitarian tasks on helping people in their distress and during disasters.
